This is the Annual Meeting of the Georgia Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers that will include installation of presentations of awards for 2017, review of a great year, installation of the new 2018 board members.
Guest Speaker:
This year's guest speaker will be Scott Higley, GDOT Director of Strategic Communications. In October 2016, Scott Higley was appointed as Director of Strategic Communications for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). In this statewide role, Scott leads all strategic planning, development and implementation of the Department's marketing strategies, communications, branding, vision, policies, procedures, goals, objectives and public relations activities, both internal and external.
In support of Georgia DOT's commitment to transparency and accountability to the public, the Department's communications efforts have recently been undergoing a transformation. From the highly visible communications campaign surrounding the catastrophic but ultimately successful I-85 bridge collapse and reopening in just six weeks, to a focus on making Georgia DOT into its own news-producing organization, the Department's communications team is forging a new path to help position the agency for success. Hear all about how it's being done from Georgia DOT's Director of Strategic Communications.
