SAFETY SENSITIVE: Yes - Subject to random drug testing per the Athens-Clarke County Drug and Alcohol Ordinance
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, occasional weekends and evenings as needed
Purpose of Job
The purpose of this job is to manage and direct Unified Government traffic engineering functions. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: planning and directing the work of traffic engineering personnel, coordinating local transportation and traffic management programs, administering construction area signing programs, reviewing driveway permits, determining traffic control needs, conducting traffic and accident studies, administering neighborhood traffic management program, presenting traffic engineering studies to the Athens-Clarke County Commission, and performing additional tasks as assigned.

Must work cooperatively with others.
When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC's safe driving policy.
MINIMUM TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation or related discipline with five years of related experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Three years supervisory experience is required.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must possess certification as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT); license as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Georgia preferred.
